Lanciata sul mercato nel 2023, con un prezzo suggerito al pubblico di 4100 Euro, la STILUS E-ALL MOUNTAIN 29" è il modello Decathlon di gamma medio-alta per coloro che desiderano una robusta e generosa all mountain, senza fronzoli, a un prezzo poco superiore alla metà di prodotti corrispettivi di marche più prestigiose. Ovviamente, per contenere i costi, la bicicletta è venduta in un colore solo, fortunatamente abbastanza gradevole.
Ho dovuto superare un ostacolo psicologico importante: per anni ho sbeffeggiato gli utenti di e-bike con commenti del tipo: "Lascio la pedalata asssistita a voi invalidi! Io sono normodotato...". Ma ho dovuto accettare il fatto che, al crescere dell'età e del peso, un aiuto serve davvero per potere tornare a godersi la bicicletta senza che ogni giro impegnativo si trasformi in una sofferenza.
Così, approfittando dello sconto a 3800 Euro, ho acquistato e, dopo qualche settimana d'attesa, ho ritirato la bici che, a 26 kg circa, pesa quasi il triplo della Scalpel. Comunque, ho trasferito il "collarino" sardo dalla Scalpel alla Stilus, ho personalizzato le regolazioni di manubrio, leve e sedile (il personale Decathlon ha fatto un buon lavoro alla consegna, con le configurazioni di base), ed eccomi pronto per nuove avventure.
Come mostrano le foto, c'è un impressionante divario dimensionale tra la mia classica Scalpel con ruote da 26" e la Stilus con le sue ruote da 29" e il telaio più alto. Anche a questo dovrò abituarmi.

Launched on the market in 2023, with a suggested retail price of 4100 Euros, the STILUS E-ALL MOUNTAIN 29" is the medium-high range Decathlon model for those who want a robust and generous all mountain, without frills, at a price just over half that of equivalent products from more prestigious brands. Obviously, to keep costs down, the bicycle is sold in just one color, fortunately quite pleasant.
I had to overcome a major psychological obstacle: for years I have mocked e-bike users with comments like: "I leave assisted pedaling to you disabled people! I am able-bodied...". But I had to accept the fact that, as you get older and heavier, you really need help to be able to enjoy cycling again without every challenging ride turning into suffering.
So, taking advantage of the discount at 3800 Euros, I purchased and, after a few weeks of waiting, I picked up the bike which, at about 26 kg, weighs almost three times as much as the Scalpel. In any case, I transferred the Sardinian "collar" from the Scalpel to the Stilus, I customized the handlebar, lever and seat adjustments (the Decathlon staff did a good job on delivery, with the basic configurations), and here I am ready for new adventures.
As the photos show, there is an impressive dimensional gap between my classic Scalpel with 26" wheels and the Stilus with its 29" wheels and higher frame. I will have to get used to this too.
