- ContenutiIn the mid-1960's I owned several Matchbox models of the RW (Regular Wheels) series, plus a few of the first with the Superfast wheels. At the time, they were my favorite toys, and I have many fond memories. As usual for a kid of that age, I strived to extract the minute details by observing the toy cars attentively, and from time to time I still dream of finding the shoe box where I kept my small cars, subsequently lost during adolescence.
In the last few years, I began to buy the same models that I owned. In Europe, the reference provider is from Cars & Boxes. New Old Stock RW items in their original box are out of reach, and I prefer slightly playworn models, some of which I restored with spare parts easily available on ebay.
Mine is not meant as an exhaustive collection, and will grow slowly and discontinuously.

A metà degli anni '60 possedevo diversi modelli Matchbox della serie RW (Regular Wheels), più alcuni dei primi con le ruote Superfast. All'epoca erano i miei giocattoli preferiti e ho molti bei ricordi. Come al solito per un ragazzino di quell'età, mi sforzavo di estrarre i minimi dettagli osservando attentamente le macchinine, e di tanto in tanto sogno ancora di ritrovare la scatola da scarpe dove le tenevo le mie macchinine, poi perse durante l'adolescenza.
Negli ultimi anni, ho iniziato ad acquistare gli stessi modelli che possedevo. In Europa, il fornitore di riferimento è Cars & Boxes. Gli articoli RW New Old Stock nella loro scatola originale sono fuori portata, e preferisco modelli leggermente usurati, alcuni dei quali ho restaurato con pezzi di ricambio facilmente reperibili su ebay.
La mia non vuole essere una raccolta esaustiva e crescerà lentamente e in modo discontinuo.

In spring 2022, I acquired another lot of 29 models from Cars & Boxes, including another Lomas ambulance that I cannibalized to improve my previous purchase. As far as I can remember, the Lomas Ambulance (a gift by my grandmother Lina in 1964) was the first model car that I ever owned.

In August 2023, on the occasion of my relocation to Castello d'Argile, I purchased a 70 cm x 115 cm x 6 wall-showcase (branded "Alsino"). Originally conceived for H0 and N model trains, it's very robust and well-suited for all the classic 1/75 Matchbox models. Four sliding acrylic glass panes give access to a total of 16 shelves.
Nell'Agosto 2023, in occasione del mio trasloco a Castello d'Argile, ho acquistato una vetrina da parete di 70 cm x 115 cm x 6 (marcata "Alsino"). Originariamente concepita per trenini H0 e N, è molto robusta e particolarmente adatta ai classici modelli Matchbox 1/75. Quattro pannelli scorrevoli in vetro acrilico danno accesso a un totale di 16 ripiani.
In December 2023, another lot of 16 models from Cars & Boxes was acquired, and some components from MK Modelcarparts where ordered, including the roof luggage pack for the Land Rover.
